Well actually, it would be scientifically accurate to say your visual receptors, the rods and cones in the back of the eyeball are always absorbing photons, or as you put it, "sucking" light
Correct myself, the action of sucking has the chance to create a pressure gradent, and is one of the many ways a pressure gradient is achieved. However this may not occur in a vacuum due to absence of particles.. Gawd I'm glad you're one of the 3 <3
I got the same physics teacher at A-level, which I thought was good until I recently found out he was pretending that sucking isn't a word.
