(This thread was not made to offend anyone on the server but just as constructive criticism to improve the servers management. Not all the points will be correct and not all the points made should be used or even taken into consideration if they are perhaps wrong or there is a downside to them) Ok surge, So recently there have been quite a few major points going around the server about how it is both managed in game and on the forums. I will try and point these out. ( anyone please feel free to comment any ideas you have about the server.) 1. 3 mods. In my opinion this is one of the most important points I will make and also one of the most obvious. I know you are aware of this surge but seeing as this thread is targeted to at helping out the servers management this point should definitely be used. So having only 3 people on the staff team is causing real struggle through out the server for many players and generally for the whole server. I think that @SoulFullNess @Revelutionz and @Lostvayne are all doing there jobs very well but seeing as there are only three of them I think it is very hard for them to get as much admin done as possible. To add to this point seeing as @SoulFullNess at the moment would be struggling to help run the server for completely fair reasons would just make it even harder for the server to be run well. I have heard surge, that you are working on a way to build up larger amounts of people in the mod team and in my opinion your are doing the exact right thing. There are thousands of moderator applications just waiting to be accepted / denied and many of them are capable of handling the position well. So keep up with the work you are doing on this and try and sort something out asap. With more mods the server would be much more free of toxic players as well as being a place where players feel more inclined to make donations to the server. 2. Moderators permissions. I think that this point will be one that could create an argument will a lot of feedback and advice. My say on this is that the mods do get more permissions and the main one being able to temp ban. I know this would be a hard thing to add to the server as it would put a lot of pressure on mods making the right desicion on wether to ban a player or not. Give them the ability to both unban and ban and only make the ban limit 1 month this gives you (surge) a lot of time to consider a perm ban. The down side of this is that you are putting a lot of trust in your mods which they should be able to handle. If they can not handle this trust they may abuse the power and start banning players constantly. The main reason why mods need this is because of the sheer amount of toxic players on the server. Of you go to the report sections of the server you will find hundreds of threads created to get rid of these players and still nothing is being done about it. Players are using there time to try and get rid of these players and nothing is getting done the hackers / abusers just come back. I know surge is trying his best to get to all of these but he dosent have all the time in the world and with both more mods and the right perms something could be done about this. 3. Toxic players. I think I explained enough about this in the earlier point but the main points to this are people spending time trying to get players banned nothing getting done players coming back server staying toxic. I know it is impossible to get rid of all the hackers in the server but we should at least get rid of the ones who have been specifically reported. Anyway I don't think there is much more to say about this point. 4. Server hacking system. For me personally this isn't a big point but for those who jitter click fast on kit pvp find this quite frustrating. We all know that the auto jail system isn't perfect but a lot of players are getting banned every day for a whole day. This may have stopped now because players are only getting jailed for 1 minute. If it was up to me I would get rid of the whole auto jail system all together. With enough mods online the hackers will get jailed as well as players reporting them. But for this to work it links back to my earlier points. 5. Prioritys. So squadcraft is doing very well in my opinion in the range of different activities open to players but something's really need to get sorted out before others. I saw the colour scheme thread and thought of it as a good example. @Extremedude9999 made a point about how the server should be considering other things before the colour scheme and I agreed with him as did @surgetheurge himself. I just think that the server needs a bit of a clean up. Get stuff back on track before moving onto things such as the colour scheme. When this gets sorted out and the prioritys start to get done then the server will be back to its usual self. For me the main priority is to sort out the amount of mods and then toxic players. Other than these few points the servers management is doing just fine and I totally respect @surgetheurge for the huge amount of effort he is putting in to running the server I just think that me and a lot of players think these points need to be fixed. I hope you take some of this advice surge into consideration and do not take it as offence. @surgetheurge @Revelutionz @SoulFullNess @Lostvayne Please leave your opinion as well as past mods who would also have good advice and a good say to wether they agree or not @Twerkae @TcWxFusions2 @TcWxFUSIONS @Fruity17D @Deluxe20 . Gl surge! ( please leave any advice / feedback / opinions you all have and also it would be great if we as a group could agree on anything else that should be added.) @leapster
I, and pretty much everyone else, will agree on this. all the points made are 100% accurate, and needs to be fixed
Great idea, once again well said, but actions speak louder than words. If we can each do whatever is possible, whether it be having a greater positive influence on the server or attempting to help others, anything, to help it improve.
My mod app? You put this on the wrong thread my mod app thread is a different one unless you meant this one... Thanks
