SquadCraft ~~ Some of you may know me, and some many not. However this is a question to everyone of this community! Obviously, without a doubt Squadcraft's current state isn't too good. I just want your guys input on this and please honestly answer these questions, without giving me some stupid answer. 1) Why did you leave this server? Explain 2) What do you think should be added to this server to make you and other players join back? Give Examples! If you guys have been playing on the server for quite some time now, you would know the dramatic change of this server over time. Im currently trying to figure out the problem for the decay in player count. So if you guys could answer these questions with honesty it would really help me figure the cause of this issue. Also when you guys are stating some examples, please explain how it will help this server! - Don't hate on anyone's personal opinions - If you're gonna be a wise man and say something stupid, please don't Also I know for a fact that this server is overpopulated with hackers, and yes that is an issue. However right now, that is the least of our problems because we should be focusing more on what we should do to bring back players. ~~ My Story ~~ =============== The reason I quit like 1-2 years ago wasn't the community, but the server itself. I did't feel anything at all playing on this server. I told everyone I quit this server because of school but really I quit because squad didn't give me any sign telling me I should stay and play. A few months ago I decided to hop back on to revisit squadcraft, not to play, but to experience the new environment and community. Lets just say, not much has changed. I asked surge to ban a hacker and all he said was when a hacker gets so many reports he will ban them.
that player had legit ncp. Also with people cheating by using better pvp mod and increasing their fov to quake pro (yes that gives you unfair reach). I can't even tell who is hacking and who isn't because everyone is pvping like a hacker with the same performance as a hacker. So yea, I needed to wait longer for that guy to rack up some ncp reports so i can tell if he is hacking or not. I can't just ban anyone you point your finger at.
I did tell you to come on and actually watch the person hacking you cant always rely on the ncp everytime.

You don't think I know that? If you give us some tips and things we should do, that would be great, otherwise I can't really suggest anything to surge, from this comment. Hackers are the least of our problems, right now we need to do something about getting players back, and bringing in new players. We need to think of something that would really help the server out. Think of a restaurant, they draw in attention and customers, because of great food and atmosphere, so we need to think of something that could do the same
Getting rid of hackers is actually a big problem as players are leaving due to the vast amount of hackers on the server at the moment.
Okay, I know that's an issue, but the point of this thread was to get the reasons of why players quit. And if the major votes were on hackers than we can do something about it. I made this thread for surge so that he could know the real reason behind players quitting
Add in better power ups to kitpvp, and get rid of the old factions. Make the new one seem more like factions too. Right now, I feel like I'm on an extremely limited creative mode instead of factions. Maybe a designated pvp area?
1) no staff this means that no one to help with not just rule breakers but help people joining to learn about the server and actually have a good time 2) the current quality of certain areas of the server like kitpvp's hit reg (which is better but still needs work) make the servers quality and inturn intrest to newer members and older ones alike drop 3) at the moment surge you need to take some more time to engage with the people on the server and get their opinions i.e. if everyone says hybrid ghost should be removed look into it
Hackers don't bring in new players tho. We can get rid of them. Agreed. Surge, you need to see what the community wants, and quit adding things that we don't like. You do that, you lose players.
So look at the hundreds of mod apps you have surge and mod some people now i get you might not trust people so solution make them temp mods after a couple of months get peoples opinion on them and decide to keep them or not the difference with these temp mods would be shorter max jails etc or simply nothing that is for you to decide not me.
Also surge, if you really want to keep this server going.... Hire @Crixiaro as moderator right now. He's a trustworthy player and everyone loves him. Do it. We need more mods. Yes Sorry if I seem like I'm bashing you surge, it's just that I want this server to be back to 200+ players, and I know that there is a way to do so. Just please listen to what we have to say. Please.
Why do you say that you feel like you are in limited creative? because you have everything? and why do you feel it's bad? Well some more anti hacker features for implemented. Also the server has a lot of freedom. Almost all the issues you would need a staff member for can be solved just be /ignoring the person that has a problem with you. idk about the kitpvp hitreg
If their video proof is valid, and everyone agrees that it's hacking, then that's when you use the ban slayer thingy
Surge, right now it's not the kitpvp hit reg that really matters. Take a look at the kitpvp hack/ddos report threads I think some of them are clear hacks. If you can begin to ban those players that would be a start. The server is literally infested by hackers, which can be fixed. Players are taking personal time out of there day to report these guys. If you just ban a few people who so hackers will feel the threat instead of considering squad as a server where no one gets banned. Secondly mods do need the ability to jail people for over a day. This puts pressure on you to ban them within the time limit if they are 100% hackers. Maybe 3, 4 days? If I was squads owner personally I would give mods I trust he ability to perm ban. Another preferable addition to squad would maybe be giving head mod another go. Then players would also get banned more consistently.
Surge i think what they r saying is that, you should take some time to go through the ban reports, and take immediate actions on the one with 100% proof of them hacking. @Newb didn't see what you put sorry
On the note of opinions, eh maybe this does need some consideration. It's what the people want that's what is going to make this server popular. The main few things people need/want on this server is: A strong staff team who regularly check forums and in game. New original ideas to add to the server. A server that keeps players attached and wanting to come back. (Such as the kitpvp stats system) Surge, it's crucial that you do take in players opinion and use them as either positive, feedback with some pointers or, if they are not so positive constructive criticism. DO NOT take pointers as offensive downers.

He knows what I mean. New plugins, kitpvp systems, ways to spend money on the server, I don't know I'm some genius who can come up with these on the spot. That's the point he needs to time to consider what new to make.
If someone legitimately goes out of their to make an entire report you should most likely go and actually talk to the person

There's a big hole in this thread. When you ask someone why they left the server, the majority of people have... ya know... left the server. Meaning that they won't see it, and making that question pointless, as the only people who do answer are people that haven't left, not totally anyway.
Surge. Mr. Thick Skull. When a guy has anti-kb he's hacking. When a guy is comboing the living hell out of you from 6+ blocks away. He's hacking. It's not a matter of "Quaker Pro" because that'd just be inaccurate and wouldn't be able to land those hits that hackers do get. Even with a low dpi. Might I mention that your continuous belief on the ncp system makes me lose a brain cell or two. A HUMAN>MACHINE. Get that shit through your brain, relying on a person is better than relying on some old peice of junk that barely jails actual hackers. And I know you said "Should I just ban people you tell me to ban" Well damn, I guess you forgot about the Have Proof part. If someone says "Ban dis ked he has anti-kb kill aura and every other hack" you'd obviously ignore it for no proof. But when people actually record someone hacking you STILL don't bother to ban them, the least you could do is leave a message saying this hacker's been banned to clarify things.
He can't get away from the machines. That's why we got jail every five seconds. That's why hackers get away. That's why he hasn't hired staff.
Things look more distant and gives you a bigger view (somewhat distorted though) but it does not give you any unfair advantage such as greater reach. It is literally available to anyone because it is a part of the fucking game.
Honestly, I just want to play the same Factions from 3 years ago. None of this "new idea" bullshit for each server to make it "unique." Also the price increment for ranks and GOD for 1k? Not even pay to win. More like pay to get scammed because you will lose command privileges in the future. No more /pv, inflation on the factions economy, and just vanilla enchants.
