Ovh sounds pretty cool. So apparently we could get the 'Enterprise SP-128 - 128G E5-1650v2 Server' for 181 bucks a month. That would make the hosting expenses 181 bucks a month instead of 1350 bucks a month. Then we could probably blow an extra 1000 bucks on advertising every month instead of hosting. I'm also thinking about flying to na to collocate a 4790k dedicated server. Collocate is when you buy the parts and you put a server together and put it inside of a data-center. This is good because then you don't need to pay rent. I mean there is a little bit for internet and power but that's negligible. a 1650 v2 can hold the entire squad, and the 4790k can provide lag free environment for the faction server. The way things are usually, they are still lag free. Sometimes when there are a lot of servers on one box, the servers step on each others feet and the dps can decrease by like .1% but still, there is no humanly visible lag. I guess the point of having a 4770k like we have now for the faction server, or a 4790k for maybe the faction server's future server, is to have 20 tps always. the 4790k processor only costs 340 dollars. The 1650v2 is only 600 bucks. Might only take like 2000 dollars tops to own our hardware. No more paying rent after that. I guess i'll keep looking for more options.
Could you spend some of that $1,000 on completely redesigning the server and maybe even hiring a developer to help out! Like new spawns more kits better Skywars etc
Those 1k would run out too quickly if he hired a GOOD dev. New spawns we can get any day. A complete redesign is quite useless as things are good as they are, KitPvP was "balanced" which is kinda like redesigned but look at what happened to its player count. Don't even get me started on how quickly sg died after its redesign. EDIT: The new spawns interests me because mcmmo's current spawn is just a hand-me-down of FactionsOld spawn which doesn't do mcmmo any justice, I'd rather have its last spawn or the spawn before that.
Well I still think we should get a new spawn because no matter how many plugins you change a new players won't know when they login. We need an AMAZING hub that will wow any new players
