New weapons in Minecraft?

Firstly, 1.9, aka the "Combat Update" has recently come out. The thing that bugs me is that there isn't as much combative things added as I would have liked. Sure, we have potion arrows and an extra off-hand slot, but absolutely no new weapons. So, should Mojang add in some new content, or just stick with the swords?

 

I think there should be different types of swords, there's no point in adding a battle axe since there already is one technically.

 

I think it'd be cool in minecraft where you could throw your weapon, like if someone's far away you could chuck your axe at him or something.

 

I think they should add enchants like we're you could shot a bow faster with one I just want more and better enchants
But a cool weapon would be like more swords

 

i reckon they add crocs for all those kids who are tired of wearing skechers
