I am looking at the Honda CRF230F. I'm 5'6 (feet & inches) and 3-quarters and almost 140lbs. Would this be a good choice? Plus, I haven't rode a motorized bike before.
I think i know the most about motorcycles on these forums. I personally ride a 2011 Husqvarna (when they were still owned by bmw) te449 SM. You may have a hard time flat footing it, best way to know is to go sit on it. If you feel comfortable on it go for it, 250cc isn't a bad starter bike. Have you ridden a bicycle? Not joking some people that haven't ridden a bike want to get motorcycles and end up break their bones learning. Also do you have someone that knows how to ride a motorcycle around you? Learning the clutch may be tricky if you don't have someone to teach you.
I know. I'm not looking to buy something off of anyone on this particular forum, I had a question that doesn't pertain to any other topic on this forum, so I asked a question here in the general topic section of the website. :3 I've ridden a mountain bike, so I have some understanding of bikes. Since I won't be going on trails or on dirt roads often, I might be switching to a dual-sport instead. Maybe the Honda CRF250L. I've heard that it's very good, but pretty expensive, like $5000. BMW makes very good bikes, my dad used to have one, though I forget which model.
That's a pretty good size It's a good starter bike Lol I know about bikes to Rebuild moters and stuff ,race
Nice, i'm not a big fan of 2 strokes myself even though they are fast as hell. You said rebuild motors so i thought you did a full build, that's cool just on your own bike or others?
I'm saving up to buy the FMF Powercore 8 exhaust pipe for it. It's around $320 and it is pretty loud. My dad said that he'll help buy the actual bike since I don't have a job yet.
I'd get something used as a first bike man, your going to drop that thing at least once. It's better to have something you aren't too scared to drop, or youll be riding around nervous all the time. I started off the on the husqy an 8 thousand dollar bike at the time and I was afraid to get on the throttle because I thought I might drop it.
How do you change it? Any sources or website tutorials? Though on the other hand, a Guy who has a CRF250L switched to the FMF and said that the jetting did not need to be changed, I don't know if this is true or not
U can look up how to put a fmf pipe on a Honda 250l and it should tell u, I'm not sure if u have to switch it on a 4stroke but u do on 2stroke
I don't know the massachusets laws but i know in california they just passed a law saying you cannot make an offroad vehicle into a street legal vehicle anymore.
