Ok before I begin with this unusually long thread, I would just like to say there is no hate aimed towards Surge or the server in anyway. If you feel as if I have breached the standards of 'hate' please message me and we can discuss the matter. I will just come straight out with it and it, Squadcraft is dying. The player base and donation funds are constantly dropping which is lowering any form of server improvement or development roles. The lack of donations are causing Squadcraft to fail, whether it be maintaining the usual player base or paying for a development team for new updates to the falling server. Now, I have respect for Surge, he ran the huge server which was averaging 300+ players at the time, by himself with no moderation, administration or development team behind his back. This takes an extraordinary amount of skill and effort. However, recently with no administration team, the server is becoming old, with no major updates or reinforcement that a server obviously needs. Even though the moderation team is amazing and probably couldn't get any better, they can not supply the updates or help that an administrator could supply. Finally, the worst thing I would like to talk about. *Sigh* Factions. This gamemode is the most disrespectful and respectless part of the server. The main reason for this is the amount of 'toxic' players in which player there. The staff team try their best to enforce rules on the server. However, all the disrespectful player base and comments easily outweigh the amount that is required for the staff. It is making many players quit and become less active on the server than they were before. It used to be the most pilar gamemode on the server, now it's just a hacker infested pit with the odd nice person every now and then. Factions is the most populated server on SC but I agree it is rampant with toxic players. The worst of the player base are the donors. They always think they can get away with anything, Justinminime is always cussing when he rages (quite often), Fadily is just, well you know, Fadily, most other donors use hacks and ghost clients. Do not get me wrong, they donated which is great but all they did it for is because they probably thought they get punishment-immunity to an extent from it. In my opinion there should be a lot more facs mods, I mean they do not even have to be global, off the top of my head, @cdennis02 would make a decent factions moderator. Some of the mods are more inactive in-game now so the only mods I ever really see on are Xenon, xSkaro, and Emuturd, but those three are not nearly enough for the entire server. We need to whip the rule breakers into shape and maybe they will learn how to respect. A big contribution to the lack of players is the fact that SG is also lacking A LOT now and donors on KitPvP are very upset with the donor kit nerfs, so patching up some of the easier things first should increase the player count even if it only by a couple people. This is also the first time someone takes the time to tag me in their post .
I have been on holiday for two weeks which was the reason for my inactivity. There's a few people who would make an a lot better mod than cdennis (no offense cdennis you're a great guy. I just don't think you would be a good moderator.).
People have been talking about how Squad is dying for about 6 months now yet we still get at least 150 players a day as we did in January. "Squad is dying" yet somehow, 6 months later, here we are.
Yes the server is not dying squad is still getting tons of donators before the reset when squad had 300+ people most of them where rude I had to actually take a break from minecraft that they where so rude but after I came back the community has been BETTER THEN EVER Thanks @Lostvayne
Surge already has sycholic (who knows where he went) sparrow, and one of the best mod team I've seen in a while
Squad is dying not server wise but community wise. People say its getting better but no its not. Kitpvp is boring niw ,if you get 4v1d kill 3 and get the last one to 2 hearts you with no pots in your hotbar the whole fight you get called ez noob rekt and when moderators aren't on you get cussed out,Factions is helpless,Sky wars is losing players rapidly,And now skyblock,creative,SG,Swe have no players usually,Swe used to get 20 through 50 players daily,SG did as well,Creative and skyblock usually had 10 through 20,The community is dying...
SquadCraft is its community so if the community dies, so does the server. You say the community is dying yet we've only lost maybe 5 major players since January. The server and the community are the same thing, if one dies so does the other so it's irrelevant as to which is dying. In my opinion neither are.
I would say the only way to get this server more popular is when surge pays a youtuber to play on here.We still have the same player counts as 6 months ago which is great, but I do feel the need for more mods.Atleast we are beating SS who average 30 Players daily
For the record, a new server does not magically get 300 players within a couple months. It has to be worked on and consistently updated for new players to come in at that rate. The only way to get that many players instantly is through a YouTuber who stays on the server to boost its popularity. Squadcraft has existed for years now, while SS is...a couple months old? Yeah, good point comparing a much older server to a small and relatively new server. Probably not the best way you wanna make a point about how a server is still alive xd
Part of the community. They've been playing for more than 2 months and they are dedicated. Not someone who's played Squad twice.
They just need more mods, the current mods are great but more mods are needed in factions definitely.
If the server is failing we need to add new stuff. Make the server more interesting, even though it already is.
Squads not dying its getting better that's what I think, if squad dies I quit minecraft I just play minecraft cuz of squadcraft
