What is your Minecraft name? My Minecraft name is KaylaPlayz but most people just call me Kayla

Why do you play Minecraft? Because its a fun game and a place to get away from life worrys. And its a good way for me to talk to friends.

What is your time zone? Eastern timezone

What single sub-server do you spend the most time on? I spend most of my time on SkyBlock but i got on Creative, KitPvP and prison sometimes.

When are you usually online? I'm usually on during vacation and school. Vacation usually 12am-3-4pm. School usually 5pm-7pm.

How many hours a day can you play? How many hours do you actually play? I can play about 6 hours a day and I usually play 4-5 hours a day.

How long have you been playing SquadCraft? I've been playing skyblock for about a year now.

What's your favorite memory on SquadCraft? When I first joined squadcraft and made alot of friends like MaleficentTran, skulldestroyer64, and kwin_girl.

Where do you spend your time at SquadCraft? Usually Skyblock.

Why do you want to be a moderator? What is your goal as a SquadCraft moderator? I want to be a moderator so i can help the server and be respected more. My goal as a SquadCraft moderator is to make the server better and help surgetheurge and the other moderators to ban and mute mean, annoying, hackers, And people who spam.

As a moderator, how will you affect SquadCraft? I will ban or mute the bad people so they can't be bad and they might stop. If they don't I will tell the owner (surgetheurge) and ban them.

Do you want Mod just to have Mod next to your name? No i don't just want mod to have mod by my name i want it to help the server.

What happens if you are not chosen to be a moderator? If i'm not chosen I will just say ok its fine I tried. And i might try again sometime but if my friends get it I will congratulate them.

What kind of skills do you have? I have good communication skills, And as if in game skills i'm sorta good at pvp and good at building. Also, im good at making friends.

Have you ever been banned? If so, why? I've only been banned once for like 3 minutes. I stepped on one of the launchers at hub and it made me glitch and something weird happened then it kicked me for apparently flying.

Have you ever cheated, used hacks? If so, why? I've never cheated or used hacks and i never will I hate hacks there just a waste, i think if you want to get better just practice.

How do you treat younger players? I treat them nicely and I don't say mean or bad things around them. I also tell people who are being mean to stop.

Do you use TeamSpeak or skype? No my parents don't allow me to use skype and i don't know what TeamSpeak is.

List the things you've done to help the SquadCraft community and the SquadCraft server. I've voted on prison several times, purchased a rank for Skyblock, and I've told my friend from a different server to come check SquadCraft out.

How many applications have you submitted before? When was the last one? This is my first application.

Is there anything else you would like to say? I'm a nice friend and try my best to be nice and to be helpful to new people in the server. I think squadcraft is an awesome server its one of my favorites.

Do you have any experience as a staff member of any organization? (doesn't have to be Minecraft) I've been the leader of many groups in real life, and i was a saftey partol in school.

Tell us about yourself, about you, your character, personality and values. My favorite color is Blue, i'm cool, fun, nice, kind, and helpful. I try my best not to get in many fights and to stop fights, I'm not shy at all, I always have very high hopes and i never give up. I have many friends and i can easily make friends.

Other than the lack of detail, there's a fair few points I want to add based on personal experience of playing skyblock with said player. Will see if I can post them later.

Alrighty. Well to start off, when I saw Crixiaro's ultimatum I wasn't planning to write my opinion and was grateful that I had the work cut out. However I returned to the server from AFK to find Kayla questioning why I commented on her app, giving me death threats (yeah, I don't care that the threats are futile) and complaints that I ruined her chances of being a mod, despite the only negative point I made was already mentioned by an actual mod. I therefore feel that even though I don't usually get involved with staff apps as a regular member of the squadcraft community and experienced staff member (on a different server that closed down a couple of years ago), that I should go ahead and write my response because Skyblock is where Kayla will likely spend a lot of her time and I may therefore be affected as a skyblock player (as a result of her moderating policy rather than due to breaking the rules) and because I didn't feel that Kayla's response to me was very appropriate, nor was it the correct attitude, for someone who wanted to become a staff member.

Apologies to anyone who may take offence from my response and who believe that I'm not in any position to share my opinion with the community as I'm not a staff member, however after playing on the server and experiencing how Kayla has been playing for a fair period of time, I would like to share my experiences and opinions. It's your decision to read this, and yes, it is going to be fairly long and detailed, however that's just the way I do things. I just felt to write this to help those who are responsible for making the decisions are able to take everything into account.

Anyway, firstly I'd like to add my comments on to the application itself. I'll just use keyboard punctuation rather than quotations bb codes (or whatever they are) in order to make this simpler, if I'm able to do so later then I shall use the actual quote codes. Some people may think that what I say is harsh/ott (over the top (just expanding on the abbreviations in case people assume it's a type or don't know/can't be bothered to find out what it means))/ocd (obsessive compulsive disorder (no, I don't have it)) and being stubborn/holding a grudge and I can understand why, however I think of it more like keeping tabs of people that I'm suspicious of, being the Ninja I like to be.

Other than the lack of details, these are the points of like to make about the application itself:

    'My name is Kaylaplayz'
Well, currently it is. There seems to be an obvious pattern recently of your IGN changing every month, whenever you are able to rename yourself. Sure, I can see why some people may want to change their IGN, but imo (in my opinion), every month is a bit ott. Plus I recall you telling Mal (Maleficant) that a person who didn't like you under your IGN will like you under your new one, despite you acting pretty much the same way as you did before. Yeah, you can't change your name and expect people to like you now, it doesn't work like that.

'I spend most of my time on SkyBlock but i got on Creative, KitPvP and prison sometimes.'
Yeah, I'm pretty sure a fair amount of people don't specify a single server, but whatever. You could've mentioned Skywars where you like to call people hackers who beat you in a match with just projectiles or strategies (yeah you don't remember, it was back under your original IGN)

'I want to be a moderator so i can help the server and be respected more.'
Yeah, about that. Whilst getting the staff rank itself may give you a bit more respect. Respect is something that you have to earn for yourself and can't be handed down to you by people you expect to respect you. You have to earn respect by doing your job as a moderator properly and going out of your way to help people.

'My goal as a SquadCraft moderator is to make the server better and help surgetheurge and the other moderators to ban and mute mean, annoying, hackers, And people who spam.'
Some people may call you out for being mean and annoying. It may be worth acknowledging when someone has said you're mean or annoying in future and seek to maintain peace on the server. Of course if it's related to them breaking the rules then it's appropriate to do your job, even if they consider t mean/annoying. However if it's not directly related to your role/responsibilities as a moderator, then you may want to understand how you can play your part to resolve the issue without causing the situation to get worse. Of course, if the other person isn't a team player then that's their problem, but at least you would have your back covered by doing your part.

'If i'm not chosen I will just say ok its fine I tried.'
Hehe, not a very accurate reflection of how you would treat someone who shares their opinion of whether you should get mod or not.

'I've only been banned once for like 3 minutes. I stepped on one of the launchers at hub and it made me glitch and something weird happened then it kicked me for apparently flying.'
I know that the question specifically asks about hacking, but it may also be worth mentioning that you were muted by Fuzzy I believe for swearing, and then once you got unmuted, you decide to do whatever you can to get punished again... If you want to be an enforcer of the rules, then you actually have to follow them yourself, rather than being a hypocrite. Practice what you preach is what I usually say.

'I treat them nicely and I don't say mean or bad things around them.'
Eh, I think that a this question could relate to other players in general, but whatever. Anyway, usually you just like to speak your mind to your whoever you're referring to, no matter who is online. Again, with the swearing, idk exactly who was on but a young player could have been playing right then. Think before you act.

'I try my best not to get in many fights and to stop fights'
Yeah, sometimes. Unless it's someone that can't stand you like Mal. Whenever someone asks why you don't like each other then it's chaos in the server chat. You know that it's people like Mal and myself who you will be responsible for watching over whilst you work as a mod on the server. If someone like Mal can't stand you then it's worth doing what you can to resolve the feud at long last. She's probably not going to like you until you return everything you asked from her (like money I believe?), I'm not saying you have to do that. I'm just saying that you should seek to try and reduce the fighting, try showing Mal that you are truly sorry for the way you've acted and treated her since you guys stopped being friends, like trying to build a wither as a joke which she took as a grief attempt. Even if she can't find it in her heart to forgive you, then that's her problem for being stubborn and not wanting to move on from it. At least you've covered your back. It's all about taking the initiative.

Not to mention, it's funny how you decide to call someone a pathetic excuse for a child (who is older than yourself), weird for remembering songs from animated tv shows that they used to watch years ago and telling them to shut the f up when they gave you advice on how to make a decent island not too long before.

I'd now like to present the cabinet with some additional points based on my experience of playing with Kayla. A lot of my earlier points also tie in notes of what I've experienced on the server, the rest shall follow here.

My first notable encounter with Kayla was under her original IGN, ninjagirlmj, late last year. Around September/October time I believe, Kayla found herself joining islands and having to leave them because something got messed up whilst she was there (not accusing her of anything). When it eventually came to Kayla asking me to join my island, my response was the same as it has been for most people. I told her that I wasn't currently adding people, however if she wanted to help me with my island then she could collect resources, particularly dirt, from the starter island, since dirt was hard to come by and I wasn't aware of using an alt to spam the challenges and didn't actually have an alt at the time. Kayla agreed to collect resources from the starter island and keep resetting so that I had a constant supply of these items, and I explained that I needed a large amount of dirt in particular to create better farms. After a few rounds of resetting and collecting, Kayla decides that she's had enough of doing this and proceeds to ask to join the island. Despite me expressing that the process of resetting and collecting dirt would be really long and boring, Kayla continues to beg me to invite her after I repeated what she had signed up for. Kayla then decides that she's going to try join another island to try and get the dirt through other means, by taking it from other people's islands. It's understandable that it's been almost a year since this occurred and so Kayla may have changed since then, however when I found out that she was a regular on the sever a few months after, I decided to start keeping mental tabs of my encounters with her. As it happens, Kayla has recently been in s similar situation as last year where she has joined islands, left for whatever reason and then joins a new one.

There have been a couple of occasions in the past when Kayla has decided that she's going to take a break from the server or quit it. On one occasion, she returns to the server not too long after to say goodbye, fight some more, ask everyone if they want her to stay or go and to ask someone to decide whether they should stay on the server or quit along with Kayla. Just because you're giving someone a choice Kayla doesn't mean that everything's ok, you're pretty much putting them between a rock and a hard place.

The vast majority of the time when Kayla needs something to help her complete a task she deems as important, she decides to ask the entire server for money or resources to help her complete it. Sure, that's all well and good, but I don't think I've really seen Kayla help other people like that, she's just payed people who helped her. It may be the cycads that she has helped people whilst I wasn't on the server, but I just don't recall ever seeing something like this whilst I have been on the server. I also want to take this opportunity to point out that I don't think that I have ever seen Kayla actually enforcing the rules on the server, until today when I actually pointed it out to her when she decides to false accuse people as a joke as well as to make up her own rules.

When Kayla was angry that I posted on her application earlier and I explained why I did so, as I had predicted that it may happen and I wanted to speak my mind, Kayla decided to make up excuses as to why she hasn't done this or what that's not been done by her, until I actually made her realise that it wasn't done.

Take her attitude for example. I told Kayla that saying she was going to kill me, being rude about me commenting and saying things like its my fault that she's not going to get mod now wasn't the right attitude for someone who wants to be a mod. To me, it felt more like some kid who expects everything that they want who was slaking when things didn't go as they wanted and they don't know how to handle it.

I also pointed out that Kayla's attitude in general hasn't been the right attitude recently, to which she states that this was before she wanted to be a mod, which to me follows on from the above point since she just assumes that now she's decided that she wants to be a mod that everything will be alright now, which gave me the impression that the idea of Kayla becoming mod was fairly sudden and rushed. I tend to think of a mod app as a job application. The employers are going to look at your whole history/activity or as much as they can get their hands on. Therefore they will take everything into account, which is why I'm writing this since Kayla probably didn't have a forums account until this month.

Finally, during my conversation with Kayla tonight, another player who had read Kayla's app stated that it wasn't very detailed and that she seemed rather immature (or something like that), to which Kayla replied that she was only X years old and what do they expect. More excuses. If Kayla uses that excuse then she's admitting that she's too young and inexperienced to be a mod, which is pretty contradictory.

After finally managing to get through to Kayla, I've hopefully managed to help her realise what it takes to be a mod. For the most part, I loved being an Admin on my favourite server and stuck with it until the end, and even contributed greatly into trying to make a new server based on the old one. Hopefully now Kayla's attitude will change and, assuming that she actually reads any of this post(s) then she will accept this as constructive criticism that she can take into account and improve upon, rather than complaining to me the next time I join the server.

To finish off my notes (well, it's more of a report, but not reporting a player for a certain reason if that makes sense), Kayla asked me tonight whether I thought whether she would actually be s good mod in the long run. To which I replied that I don't know. Only time will tell. From here on out, it all depends on what Kayla does, her actions, her behaviour, her attitude.

Anyway, I hope that whoever reads this post(s) find it useful in terms of the verdict of Kayla's application. This wasn't intended to be biased or targeted at influencing the staff to accept/decline Kayla's application, I merely wanted to share these points and experiences due to her low activity on the forums. Plus I feel that I have a neutral stand in this as I don't have the ability of actually judging the application and giving the final verdict.

Kayla, sorry if you don't like what I've written. This may sound like I'm criticising everything you do, however this is purely meant to be constructive criticism that you can work and improve upon. It's harsh, yea, but it's the truth. And that's just life. The tips here is my advice from an experienced staff member and minecraft player to a player who is aspiring to join the ranks of staffdom. You may or may jot understand some of what I've mentioned, in which case I'd recommend researching so that you actually understand what I'm talking about. If you do eventually get accepted, I'd be happy to provide any guidance or tips of how you can be a good moderator from my experience as an admin.

Well, FinalCritic strikes again. Time for a nap.

Thank you for applying to become a moderator on SquadCraft. We are sorry to inform you that your application has been denied due to the following:

You are a rule breaker in terms of swearing and being rude, you've also stated to me that you want to hack. When you're finished being muted you continuously swear to get my attention and get into trouble.

You may re-apply in 2 months time. Best of luck.

    Kind regards,

    MetaMonkeyz
