Temporary Mod App

Attention: Before reading my mod app, I would like for everyone to take one to two minutes reading this short message. I know the requirement for a new mod app is a time increment of two months, however I have created this mod app as a way for others to critique it so when it comes to the day I am eligible to share my mod app with this community I will have a mod app that has been critiqued to its full extent. Why do you play Minecraft?

Why do we play minecraft? To answer this question its obvious that minecraft is one of the most popular server amongst children of our age. Why is that? Well minecraft holds a unique attribute where us players can experience what it feels like for the first time of taking on danger and risk, only to earn rewards at the very end. However minecraft also has the creative side to it, where others can construct or deconstruct many unique structures, that display talent, brilliance, and teamwork. Minecraft to me, is a great game that can help us connect with players all around the world
through different server and community.

What is your time zone?

Hawaii Standard Time (HST)

When are you usually online?

Monday's ~ Friday's I play a minimum of three hours and a maximum of five, because school is a priority for me. I end school around 3:00pm and play until 7:30 or 8:00pm. However coming to weekends from Saturday's ~ Sunday's I average daily about 7 hours if not more from 10:00 am to around 5:00pm. I will sometimes take a break from minecraft and go outside play some sports, and come back right on to minecraft.

How many hours a day can you play? How many hours do you actually play?

To be honest lately I've become more and more active throughout this server whether it be actually on the server, or minechat and chatting with others. Basically giving a brief description of my schedule, approximately 3-4 hours of daily minecraft on squadcraft from Monday ~ Friday
Now let's get down to real business, Saturday's ~ Sunday's are the best time for me, obviously because of no school and it's a weekend. I average on minecraft about 6-8 a day if not more.

How long have you been playing SquadCraft?

Frankly I've been playing this server for over 3 years, according to slender. It may or not be true, but from those two or three years of squad, I have truly seen a difference that I would possibly hope to fix.

What's your favorite memory on SquadCraft?

Coming down to my favorite moment will be hard for me because I have plenty of different memories being joyful, sad, angry, and even shocked, but one memory that really stood out has got to be joining this server. Without joining this server, I would've never met a very very unique community that squad has, and something truly to my heart, my friends. They have made my time on this server feel like ten year of being King. I don't need to name names but you guys know who you are.

Where do you spend your time at SquadCraft?

Although I spend most of my time on factions, because factions is my main server I do like to switch it up a bit. I go around each server and chat with the different players for a good amount of time.

Why do you want to be a moderator? What is your goal as a SquadCraft moderator?

First off I love talking to the players, welcoming them and making friends with them, as they are what keeps the server alive. It's nearly impossible to provoke me, as I try my hardest to get along with everyone by chatting with them, but if they break some rules (e.g. bypassing the filter) I won't ignore it and pretend I did not see it, I will mute them. I will act unbiasedly when making decisions about mutes. Factions isn't very moderated whenever I'm on, and I would love to be there as much as I can to make sure that everything is going well. As well as this, I would check up on other servers to make sure that things are going smoothly.
Another thing that I enjoy is hearing suggestions and opinions from different people as I always take it as a type of constructive criticism on how to improve and become a more well rounded individual.
Lastly, the reason to becoming mod, would be changing up the rusty community we have now, and brining it to a much cleaner one. Yes this will be hard, but my goal of being. A squadcraft moderator is to help this server stand up again. Right now, as everyone can tell its struggling to get back up on its feet. Creeperbot, a former moderator, who is now someone who helps surge advertise this server, slowly bringing in new players. Even if I'm not mod, I tend to pitch in ideas that can possibly help shine this servers creativity and attract players to join, and stay.

As a moderator, how will you affect SquadCraft?

Being a moderator isn't about horseplay. To make squadcraft a better environment I would devote my time and am an active member on the server. I would carry on making sure that I provided helpful responses to players' questions. As a moderator I would watch the chat and any other servers I decide to visit is spam free and friendly. If anybody ever messages me about their suggestions and opinions about the server, I would take the time to listen and take their views on board, perhaps by creating a thread about what they thought or talking about it to other players or staff. As a moderator, I plan on removing the toxicity that stains this server one by one. Most importantly, I would do everything I could to make sure that everyone was having an enjoyable time on Squadcraft.

Do you want Mod just to have Mod next to your name?

Having mod next to my name shows a sign power to other players, but not me. Mod is just another prefix, that shows I have earned my way and trust to becoming a moderator of a professional server. So having mod next to my name would be irrelevant and unnecessary.

What happens if you are not chosen to be a moderator?

Not being chosen to becoming moderator, will be a bummer to everyone at some points, but really it's just an act to get us motivated to try even harder to reaching our goal. Like what all my friends and teacher say, once life pushes you down determination is what brings you back up.

What kind of skills do you have?

Squadcraft/Faction skills - talking to the community. For example if someone is breaking a rule, I will try and explain why they should not do what they are doing. Also, if they start getting rude, then I will be patient and stay calm. I can type quite quickly, meaning that I can respond appropriately whatever is going on in chat soon. I am fair and treat all players equally. No matter whether someone is my friend in real life or in game, I will still mute them or do what is necessary to prevent it from happening again.
Some different traits I possess are...
Obedience: as a teenager, I respect my adults and kids around me, showing respect to people who show respect towards me, who wouldn't treat me like dirt, or take advantage of me.
Patience: I am often patient with people because it shows kindness, and it shows how well you are at handling things.
Keen: talking with players of squad, having keen eyes is useful to me, because even if I'm busy talking to different players or friends I will always catch the players who are disrupting the moods of others.
Strategy: having strategy is what makes you win the game, personally I am a well rounded person who is capable of creating a plan based on the odds that are against us, to help us achieve victory.

Have you ever been banned? If so, why?

I have been banned on this server once but the reason for being banned was because after factions went down, I typed in chat did "tnt" do this implying if tnt had anything to do with the server going down, but one of the mods thought of it as an attempt to make factions go offline. I was later unbanned after resolving the conflict with one of the mods on the forums.

Have you ever cheated, used hacks? If so, why?

Okay I'm going to be completely honest, I've used hacks in the past but what turned my ways around was I really didn't see any fun in using them, like the point of hacks is to ruin other players time in a block game. The childish Jerry in the past has been using hacks, for player advantage but maturing over the years I've completely stopped my hacks. However these hacks haven't been on squadcraft whatsoever, but on a different server.

How do you treat younger players?

Younger players are no different than older ones. I treat both of them fairly, and that I'm not harsh/rude to the extent that they quit the server, because to me everyone are the same person. Although if they are misbehaving then consequences/warnings will occur, but other than that I will treat them the same way I treat others. I tend to sometimes go a bit easier as they are kids, who don't really know right from wrong, which is why I would tell them the rules of this server. However if they were kids who felt like misbehaving then consequences would still take place.

Do you use TeamSpeak or Skype?

I have both downloaded, but skype is mainly my way of communication. However if both are needed, I will gladly use both.

List the things you've done to help the SquadCraft community and the SquadCraft server.

I am always happy to talk to other players on the server whether it be in game related or just about their real life difficulties or problems. Sometimes I would help them to familiarize themselves with the server by showing them some tips and tricks to doing well or become better. I have helped the mods numerous times, either catching the unwanted players or helping the players out so the mods don't need to take time out of their busy schedule to help them. Other than that I have talked a bit with creeperbot360 about the changes that could be added in order for squadcraft to grow into a better server. Other ways I helped the community would be solving problems that new players have, whether it be in game troub,e or outside. I am always happy and try to encourage others to share their thoughts as to what is troubling them, because I feel as if it's necessary to help bring comfort to them, so they can relax and have a peaceful day on squad.

How many applications have you submitted before? When was the last one?

I have submitted a total of two applications, both of them being denied. The last one was a little over a month ago.

Is there anything else you would like to say?

This is a thanks to everyone who has given me a place in squadcraft, and special thanks to my friend who has introduced me to a wonderful server.

Do you have any experience as a staff member of any organization? (doesn't have to be Minecraft)

I was a staff member on a server long ago that eventually died from payment issues, but the time being when I was a staff help me realized the time/skill it takes to become a great staff.

Aside from being a minecraft staff, I was the president back at my school. The president is somewhat like a minecraft staff, because it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to provide a better community for the school. As president I had to do a lot of idea designing that would help boost this schools popularity, as it wasn't as big as many other schools. Throughout the entire year with the help of other group members we were able to expand the school by an approximate of 260+ students.

At home, their are these twins, who are significantly younger then me who come over late, due to their fathers work schedule. They can be very demanding, however I am very patient and fair with them. There was this one time they got into a fight because they wanted to play a specific game on the PS3. It started as an argument but it later turned into one of them kicking the other person. Without being harsh with punishment I simply explained the right from the wrong and the behavior towards others.

Throughout the community of where I live, I have participated in a group of adults that go around and do deeds in return for love. Different days we would either, but food for people who can't afford it, such as vets who served in military who can't afford to buy food. We have been determined to remind others of why God truly created us. Other then helping the poor, we sometimes do casual stuff such as go to common places and clean up the streets. Picking up rubbish, such as plastic bags, drugs, metal, anything that can harm the environment and especially harm the animals of the sea and land.

Tell us about yourself, about you, your character, personality and values.

I have been fairly interested in sports, mainly basketball and soccer. I play basketball but not soccer, but even practices can be a little harsh but I've learned through slight pain can build up strong character, which brought me dedication and motivation to becoming a better basketball player. I am the point guard, because of my height I am mainly a person who retrieves the ball and passes, and rarely shoots. Our team has been undefeated and has won states through one motto I would I like to continue in my hearts forever, and possibly share with you guys. One team is a catchy motto which represents a group becoming so well functional that they seem as one person. I personally have developed partial lay the one team but through my few years of high school I would love to master it.

 

Honestly, the very first time I dealt with his actions were very calm, all I did was tell him to stop it before I post evidence of his cussing. However he decides to constantly do it even more, taking it way out of hand. If staff continues to act nice and only give a warning about him to stop, he really wouldn't. In all honestly the only best possible way for him to become controlled is by over powering him in voice, rather warnings. Mods aren't on, so he has the thought of doing it whenever he wants and it's really pissing me off. Ik my ways of actions weren't necessary but that's how we learn isn't it?

Not really, if ur thinking about Nick, then it's not teasing. He's the one who continues to verbally harass everyone before I get on and "tease" him. I know that wasn't the greatest ideas but yeah I'm going to learn from my wrong.

Sorry if my ways of dealing with Nick has been alittle over done, I have realized my mistake and where I could fix. Instead of bashing on Nick, I simply could of done just reported him rather building up his anger even more. Becoming moderator is all about changing and correcting your ways that are wrong, and I'm open to change.

I know you make think I'm fit for the job or not, but my actions lately haven't showed it but honestly I'm changing. Most of Squad players I have been nice to and have been doing everything I have stated, however players like Nick I haven't. I will change and deal with him in a lesser harsh way.
