You can only add Surge to your Skype and just change your Skype "display" name

For example if I where to send someone a msg on my Skype it would say Robbin but my actual Skype name isn't Robbin and I could be in a group chat with people not in my skype

 

People can still see your username and that is what's connected to the IP.

Any experienced ddoser can get through a VPN like hotspot shield trust me, I used hot spot shield but the downtime was outrageous. I agree something is better than nothing but don't expect it to stop everything.
