So I'm pretty good at the mechanics of minecraft but this stumps me. I have an iron golem farm for some reason it refuses to spawn more than 7 iron golems and after all the spawners want to do is "poof"(animation with no spawn). The spawners are well past the 9x9x9 range of being able to spawn more and it still will not spawn more then 7. I was wondering if the server had a plugin that changes the mechanics of spawners or if this was some type of bug happening. Looking forward to a response, thanks!
This exact same thing is happening to my grinder, there's the animation of it spawning but no mobs are spawning
Okay so on a hunch I did some more investigating into this on my own. I even went to 2 other people's mob farms to confirm I could duplicate these effects and I also made a testing area in the world to try things. The conclusion I came to was there is a plugin on the server preventing more than 7 hostile mobs to be in the same chunk. I used water to move 20+ hostile mobs into the same chunk and as a new mob came in(once past 7 mobs) one of the mobs already inside the chunk would disappear. This also explains why there has been dozens of people on the server saying that their mob spawners aren't working. There is already 7 hostile mobs either on the surface or in a tunnel of the chunk that their mob spawner is in so it refuses to spawn more. Is it possible to have this plugin increased to 50+ mobs(preventing people just stock piling mobs to create lag) or to have this plugin removed entirely? It is causing people to become frustrated that their new mob grinder they spent hours and hundreds of thousands on to not work at all.
Oh... that makes sense, since my grinder is in a cave I guess random mobs would spawn, and when I left to spawn the random mobs would disappear. Nice job
Chunks are 16x16xto the sky though so even if it was in the sky the mobs below would still effect it.
No. Mobs only spawn within 32 height of a player. So if your base is in the sky, there wont be any mobs spawning at all.
Yes.... that is a problem because all day everyday hundreds of mvps are fying around looking for your ig farm.... Look, there are laws of minecraft in place, they are set in stone by mojang. The reason why your iron golem farm is making less golems in your environment is because there are a lot of other npcs around you..... So find a way to get rid of them. One way to do it is to make a sky base. What do you want me to do? have a custom entity limiter made that limits everything except iron golems just so you can make more money for yourself? wow how noble and selfless. There are more problems with it. Iron golems seem to take a lot more resources than normal mods. If I were to lift the limit on them, the server would lag hard and a lot. I mean it is a possibility, but do you want me to make the server lag just so you get more iron per hour afking?
